A few players Delhi Capitals (DC) can target in the trading window are:
Delhi Capitals released off-spinner, Sandeep Lamichhane ahead of the IPL 2021 auction. DC will be led by two Indian spinners in their spin bowling department. Axar Patel and Amit Mishra have played plenty of IPL cricket in the previous years and they possess huge amounts of experience. With the DC squad almost complete in all aspects, they will look to add more depth in the upcoming trading window.
Delhi Capitals will look to replace Lamichhane with an overseas spinner who can bowl well in sub-continental conditions. Mitchell Santner, currently a part of the CSK squad can be a good option for the Capitals given his previous exploits in the Indian conditions.
Delhi Capitals have a lethal overseas pace bowling attack comprising of the South African duo, Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje. In addition, Chris Woakes is also expected to feature in the 2021 season. However, Delhi Capitals (DC) do not possess many Indian fast bowling options at their disposal. Ishant Sharma and Avesh Khan are the sole Indian pacers in the DC squad.
Siddarth Kaul, currently a part of the SRH squad has found himself on the bench more often than not in the previous two IPL seasons. Delhi Capitals can target Kaul who is an experienced T20 bowler, having played several IPL and domestic matches.
Basil Thampi is another fast bowler from SRH which Delhi Capitals can target in the trading window that ends on February 4. Adding depth to their Indian fast bowling department, will strengthen Delhi’s squad and will make them one of the strongest squads on paper going into the 2021 season. Thampi is in a similar situation like Kaul, having found himself on the bench for majority of the last season.
