Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have INR 10.75 crores remaining in their purse. A few players SRH can target in the upcoming auction are:
Kedar Jadhav was released by Chennai Super Kings ahead of the IPL 2021 auction. Sunrisers Hyderabad have a balanced squad going into the auction and have place for only three additional members in their squad. Hyderabad have a strong top order comprising of David Warner, Jonny Bairstow, Kane Williamson and Manish Pandey. Their main aim in the auction will be to add depth in their batting department. Kedar Jadhav, can be a great potential target for SRH given the amount of experience he possesses.
Legendary Indian spinner, Harbhajan Singh was another player to be released by CSK. Sunrisers Hyderabad have the services of the best T20I bowler, Rashid Khan in their squad. In addition, they have the likes of Mohammad Nabi and Shahbaz Nadeem in their squad. However, SRH will look forward to bolster their spin bowling department and what better way to do it then have the experienced turbanator in your squad.
Shakib Al Hasan
Sunrisers Hyderabad have room for just one overseas player in their squad. They are expected to target Shakib Al Hasan in the auction, a player whom they released in 2019 after the Bangladeshi cricketer was slapped a one-year ban. However, SRH will look forward to engage in a bidding war for the all-rounder, and given that they can buy only upto three players, it might be possible that the franchise goes all in for Shakib.
Australian batsman, Josh Inglis can also be a potential target for SRH in the upcoming auction. Inglis had an impressive BBL season where he scored 391 runs in his 15 outings at an average of over 35. Jonny Bairstow will be the first choice opener for SRH, however the English international calendar often clashes with the back-end of the IPL season. Hence, Hyderabad may consider adding a quality batsman to their squad in case the need arises to replace Bairstow.
Jhye Richardson had a terrific BBL season where he picked up 27 wickets in his 15 outings at an average of 7.23. As a result, he will be under the radar of several teams going into the auction. Billy Stanlake, the tall Australian pacer was released by Hyderabad. As a result, this leaves room for an additional pacer in the squad. Richardson has a knack of picking wickets and can be a great addition to the Hyderabad squad.
