AFG vs SCO Dream11 Prediction for ICC T20 World Cup 2021: Playing XI, Fantasy Cricket Tips, Team, Weather Updates and Pitch Report

Preview for AFG vs SCO Dream11 Contest:

Afghanistan will be opening their campaign at the T20 World Cup 2021 with the first of their Super 12 fixtures against leading associate rivals Scotland in Sharjah on Monday (October 25).

The Asian giant-killers will be hoping to make a winning start to a competition for which they directly made it to the Super 12s after an inspiring ascent in the T20I rankings.

For Scotland, the Group B toppers from the preliminary round, here is a fantastic opportunity to continue their winning run and make another statement in the tournament, having already defeated a Test member in Bangladesh in Muscat.

Probable Playing XI:

Afghanistan – Hazratullah Zazai, Mohammad Shahzad, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi (c), Asghar Afghan, Karim Janat, Rashid Khan, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Naveen-ul-Haq, Hamid Hasan

Scotland – George Munsey, Kyle Coetzer (c), Matthew Cross (wk), Richie Berrington, Calum MacLeod, Michael Leask, Chris Greaves, Mark Watt, Josh Davey, Safyaan Sharif, Bradley Wheal

Weather Update: Clear skies; 31 degrees C; wind 12 km/h; humidity 44%

Pitch Report: The track in Sharjah has offered the spinners significant grip, if not excessive turn off the deck, in recent times. And as it has kept low as well and gone uneven, pacers banging the ball in at hard lengths have also relished their time at the venue. All in all, batters have their work cut out.

AFG vs SCO Dream11 Prediction

Can Scotland keep Afghanistan at bay in the AFG vs SCO encounter?

Scotland have been a team on the rise. Winning against Bangladesh and topping their group in the preliminary stage would be a huge confidence booster for them heading into the Afghanistan contest. However, given the threat posed by the trio of Rashid, Mujeeb and Nabi on the spin-friendly track in Sharjah, this does look like an challenge too big for them at this stage of their development, even though their batters have tended to find a way past Rashid on occasions previously. The Afghans do have an edge heading into this contest.

AFG vs SCO Dream11 Captaincy Picks

1. Rashid Khan (9.5 credits)

Rashid Khan is easily one of the world’s best contemporary white-ball spinners. The wristspinner is in very good form heading into Afghanistan’s first game of the T20 World Cup. Rashid was one the shining lights in a disastrous IPL 2021 for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), with 18 wickets from his 14 league games at an economy rate of 6.69. If Rashid gets going in Sharjah, he can run through the Scotland batting unit.

2. Mohammad Nabi (9.5 credits)

Nabi has been a terrific allrounder for Afghanistan in the shortest format of the game. The intelligent off-spinner and capable lower-order bat has played 81 T20Is for his country with an economy rate of 7.20 with 72 wickets and has had a strike-rate of 145.72 for 1,396 runs. Nabi, 36, remains a very attractive captaincy pick.

3. Richie Berrington (9.5 credits)

Scotland’s most robust player Berrington has been superb in the T20 World Cup so far. In his three outings during the preliminary stage, the right-hander struck 103 runs at a strike-rate of 137.33 while averaging 51.50 and looked the most convincing of his team’s batters against spin. The ability to handle the spinners will be of great use against Afghanistan and that makes Berrington a very decent choice for captaincy in your fantasy team.

AFG vs SCO Dream11 Budget Picks

1. Rahmanullah Gurbaz (8.5 credits)

Gurbaz, the wicketkeeper, has been one of Afghanistan’s bright young batting talents. The 19-year-old right-hander has played only 13 T20Is for Afghanistan but in those he has struck runs at 143.87 while averaging 34.30. Gurbaz’s will be a big wicket for Scottish bowlers in the all-important clash in Sharjah.

2. Josh Davey (8.5 credits)

Scotland right-arm quick Davey is one of the major reasons why his team managed to top the Group B in the first round and made it to the Super 12s. Davey is Scotland’s top wicket-taker of the tournament so far with 8 scalps and has had an economy rate of only 5.82.

3. Mark Watt (8.5 credits)

Watt, the left-arm spinner, has been another of Scotland’s heroes with the ball this tournament. He is entering the Super 12 stage after maintaining an economy rate of just 5.41 for his 3 wickets during the preliminary round. In many ways, Watt has only continued the excellent run that he has been on in T20Is since the end of the last T20 World Cup in India. In this period, Watt has picked up 37 wickets while conceding just 6.73 runs per over.
