The Afghanistan Cricket Board(ACB) have announced a 16-member squad for the series against Ireland, which was initially slated to be played in Abu Dhabi but will now be played in Oman.

Afghanistan will resume their international cricket with an ODI Super League series against Ireland, who played one series against England back in July as a part of the restart project in England.

The upcoming series was initially planned to be played in Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Stadium, which played host to the Indian Premier League, but now it will be played in Oman due to visa issues.

”We could not have a good preparation for the last few days because the weather is not good in Afghanistan as here it is very cold,” Raees Ahmadzai, ACB’s director of cricket, told Cricbuzz when asked about the preparation of the players.

”We tried our best to select the best available squad. The side is very balanced as we included some youngster along with the seniors,” he said.
