West Indies will tour Bangladesh for a multi series format in January consisting of three ODIs and two Test matches. CWI confirmed the tour after their inspection team reported back to the board of directors on what they saw during their short trip earlier this month.

The tour has been shortened, as there will be one less Test match and no T20I series. West Indies will arrive in Dhaka on January 10, after which they will have to quarantine for three days, followed by four days of training among themselves. West Indies will play one warm-up match before the series gets underway.

The first two ODIs will be played in Dhaka on January 20 and 22. The third ODI will be played at Chattogram which is also the venue for the first Test match. Prior to the first Test, there will also be a four-day practice match at Chattogram, at the MA Aziz Stadium, a ground just across the road from the team hotel. The final test will be played in Dhaka, which will be held from February 11-15.

The visitors are expected to leave the country on February 16. This will be Bangladesh’s first bilateral series after the pandemic. Bangladesh already have bilateral series against Pakistan, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand and Sri Lanka postponed indefinitely. West Indies will come into the series after having being beaten by New Zealand convincingly in the T20I and the Test series. Jason Holder will lead the visitors in the Test series, whereas Kieron Pollard will take over the captaincy for the ODI series.
