Chris Gayle may have not had the best of starts to his campaign in the CPL 2021 this Thursday (August 26), but the mighty left-hander still gave one befitting example of his prowess as the game’s most dangerous power-hitter.

Even though Gayle made only 12 runs off his 9 deliveries at the crease in St Kitts & Nevis Patriots’ opening encounter, his brief stay included a gigantic six that left his imprints on one of the glass shields at the Warner Park in Basseterre, St Kitts. Facing Barbados Royals’ paceman Jason Holder, the ‘Universe Boss’ shattered the glass at the back of the sightscreen with a straight six of brute power and speed.

The maximum off Chris Gayle’s willow came during the 5th over of the Patriots’ innings. With Holder delivering a full-pitched ball near Gayle’s arc, the batter had no problems showcasing his wonderful downswing and hitting the ball straight over the bowler’s head.

The batter initially took a couple of steps towards the leg-side in order to create room for himself and then unleashed his wrath on the ball with another elegant maximum.

The replays only highlighted the beauty of the stroke and also its straight alignment, so much so that it hit the window and broke its glass cover just near the black sightscreen at the stadium.
