DC vs KKR: Delhi Capitals returned to winning ways, as they secured a convincing seven-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders. Prithvi Shaw was adjudged the player of the match for his spectacular knock of 82 runs from just 41 balls. Delhi have five wins in their seven games, and are on-course to booking a spot in the playoffs. On the other hand, KKR have managed to win just two games in their seven outings, and are looking all out of sorts at the moment.

Rishabh Pant won the toss, and elected to field first. KKR top-order collapsed once again, as they could manage to score just 154 runs in their 20 overs. Lalit Yadav and Axar Patel picked up two wickets each, as the KKR batsman struggled against spin. In response, Prithvi Shaw played an incredible knock, as he smashed 82 runs on Thursday. DC won with seven wickets remaining, and 21 balls to spare.

Axar Patel picked two wickets against KKR

The likes of Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav impressed against KKR, as the duo picked two wickets each. Axar conceded 32 runs in his four over spell, and picked up the key wickets of Nitish Rana and Axar Patel. On the other hand, Lalit Yadav was brought back into the squad, and he grabbed his opportunity with both hands.

Lalit Yadav picked the wickets of Eoin Morgan and Sunil Narine in quick succession, as he put his team in the drivers seat. Except the likes of Shubman Gill and Rahul Tripathi, KKR batsman struggled against the spinners on Thursday. Kagiso Rabada and Ishant Sharma went wicketless, as Avesh Khan and Marcus Stoinis picked a wicket each.

Eoin Morgan was dismissed for a duck against DC

Eoin Morgan was adjudged the player of the match against Punjab Kings, for scoring a vital knock of 47 runs to take his team past the finishing line. However, his poor start to the season continued as he was dismissed for a duck against Delhi Capitals. The English skipper was dismissed by Lalit Yadav, after he was caught by Steve Smith.

Shubman Gill managed to put some runs on the board, after enduring a rough start to the season. The Indian batsman scored 43 runs from 38 balls, before being dismissed by Avesh Khan. Prior to the match against DC, Gill had managed to score just 89 runs in his six innings. His knock of 43 runs on Thursday, would give him some confidence for the second half of the season.

Prithvi Shaw scored a brilliant knock against KKR

Prithvi Shaw was on top of his game against Kolkata Knight Riders, scoring 82 runs. The Delhi opener smashed 11 fours and 3 sixes in his incredible knock that helped his side register their fifth victory of the campaign. Shaw scored 25 runs off the first over, hitting six boundaries. The youngster dominated the KKR bowlers right from the onset, and scored runs all-around the park.

Shikhar Dhawan played an anchor’s role, scoring 46 runs off 47 balls. The duo stitched a partnership of 132 runs for the opening wicket, and took the match away from the opposition. Pat Cummins made a late charge, picking up three wickets in succession. However, that was never enough as DC stormed to a seven wicket victory Marcus Stoinis hitting the winning runs.
