Delhi Capitals assistant physiotherapist tested positive for COVID-19

News has emerged that IPL franchise Delhi Capitals’ assistant physiotherapist, one of the key members of the franchise, has been tested positive for COVID-19.

Delhi Capitals put out a press release that read, Delhi Capitals Assistant Physiotherapist has tested positive for COVID-19. He was going through his mandatory quarantine, and had tested negative for his first two tests conducted on arrival in Dubai, and tested positive for the third one.

He was yet to meet with and had not been in contact with any players or staff of the franchise. He was isolated immediately, and is currently at the IPL Isolation Facility in Dubai for the next 14 days, at the end of which he will have to produce two negative reports for him to be able to join the Delhi Capitals squad.”

Delhi Capitals CEO Dhiraj Malhotra said earlier today, The biggest challenge is to make sure that the team is secluded and stays within the bubble. They are all following and abiding by the rules. But it gets very tough for players and support staff of different age-groups to be stuck in their room. We are doing everything to entertain them and keep them mentally strong and stable.”
