Preview for ENG vs BAN Dream11 Contest:

After dominating West Indies in their opening game, England will be hoping to continue their winning run in the T20 World Cup 2021 on Wednesday (October 27) when they take on Bangladesh in Abu Dhabi.

The last edition’s runners-up made an astonishing start to their campaign, defeating the reigning world champions in a one-sided contest where they had dismissed them for just 55.

For Bangladesh, this is a difficult challenge after the painful defeat versus Sri Lanka in their first Super 12 fixture.

Having lost to Scotland in the first round and somehow keeping Oman at bay to make it this far in the tournament, Bangladesh looked like pulling one in their favour against the Lankans. But then an insipid second half with the ball cost them what looked like a near-certain victory at the halfway mark in Sharjah.

ENG vs BAN Probable Playing XI:

England – Jos Buttler (wk), Jason Roy, Dawid Malan, Eoin Morgan (c), Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Chris Woakes, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, Tymal Mills

Bangladesh – Mohammad Naim, Liton Das, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah (c), Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan (wk), Mahedi Hasan, Mohammad Saifuddin, Nasum Ahmed , Mustafizur Rahman

Weather Update: Sunny; 35 degrees C; wind 15 km/h

Pitch Report: The surface at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi has played dry and offered the spinners good amount of grip and turn so far. Pacers have also relished their time, executing their slow cutters to very good effect. In the last match played at the venue, South Africa made a paltry score of 118/9. In response, Australia reached home but with only two balls left in the game – reflecting an obvious bowling-friendly nature of the deck.

ENG vs BAN Dream11 Prediction

England will be hoping to dominate again in the ENG vs BAN encounter.

This will be Bangladesh’s biggest challenge in Group 1 since England may not have the best of bowling line-ups but they possess a really strong batting unit with some of the best batters in the modern-day game. And though the conditions may suit the Bangla Tigers in an afternoon game in Abu Dhabi, we have seen through their losses against Scotland and Sri Lanka that they have multiple issues in either department. This does look like a challenge too big for them, especially if their spinners – outside the inform Shakib Al Hasan – fail to come to the party.

ENG vs BAN Dream11 Captaincy Picks

1. Shakib Al Hasan (10 credits)

Shakib is always a bright captaincy choice given his class and ability as an allrounder. The experienced cricketer has been fantastic for Bangladesh in the tournament, especially with the ball. Shakib has now picked up 11 wickets from his 4 matches of the T20 World Cup with an economy rate of just 4.73. Shakib hasn’t been at his best with the willow – an average of 29.50 with a strike-rate of 116.83 – but he has certainly been Bangladesh’s best bowler on show.

2. Jos Buttler (10 credits)

Another fruitful captaincy pick in this game is Jos Buttler, the star opening batter and wicketkeeper. Buttler is a rewarding choice because of his magnificent batting at the top of the order and his ever-improving glovework behind the stumps. Since the end of the last T20 WC, he has made 1,056 runs in T20Is with an average of 39.11 and strike-rate of 138.58. In the small run-chase versus West Indies, Buttler focused on getting his eye in and adjust to the conditions via a careful 24 not out from 22 balls.

3. Jonny Bairstow (9.5 credits)

Bairstow has been among England’s most dangerous white-ball batters for a while now. The aggressive right-hander has been magnificent for his country, maintaining a strike-rate of 145.22 for 957 runs in T20Is since the previous T20 World Cup came to a close. For this tournament, Bairstow seems to be England’s preferred middle-order bat to try and upset the lines and lengths of the spinners with his strokeplay. This makes his upcoming battle with Bangladesh spinners, including Shakib, a mouth-watering prospect.

ENG vs BAN Dream11 Budget Picks

1. Tymal Mills (8 credits)

Mills is considered a valuable addition to England’s bowling unit for this T20 World Cup keeping in mind the conditions across all three venues in UAE. Mills’ ability to vary his pace and bowl the back of the hand slower balls could be a difficult prospect to handle for batters on dry surfaces. In the last game against West Indies in Dubai, the unorthodox left-arm quick bowled a spell of 2/17 off his 4 overs.

2. Chris Woakes (8.5 credits)

Although it was the spinners who dominated the proceedings for England in the last game against West Indies, Woakes played a short but significant role in their victory. The medium-fast swing bowler got the prized scalp of in-form left-hander Evin Lewis for just 6 and made life a lot easier for Moeen and Rashid. This will be Woakes’ role throughout the competition – to make the new-ball talk, get early wickets and set the right tone for England – and the bowler seems up for it.

3. Mohammad Naim (8.5 credits)

With 126 runs at an average of 42 and strike-rate of 121.15, Naim, the left-hand opener, has been Bangladesh’s top run-getter of the tournament so far. Naim played a decent knock of 62 off 52 balls in Bangladesh’s last game versus Sri Lanka. The youngster will be hoping to continue his good form against England and really cement his place at the top of the order in T20Is via the rest of the competition.
