ENG-W vs IND-W: After a gruelling Test encounter and a difficult ODI series, India women’s challenging England tour moves to its last leg – a three-match T20I series.
Having pulled off a hard-fought Test draw and losing the ODIs with a 2-1 scoreline, the visitors, who were runners-up at the 2020 T20 World Cup in Australia, will be looking to make a strong statement at the end of their month-long UK visit.
For England, it’ll be an opportunity to get back to winning ways after a blip in the final ODI in Worcester where a Mithali Raj special made the difference for the tourists.
They’ll also be looking to unleash their wrath on Harmanpreet Kaur & co after being at the receiving end of the affects of torrential Sydney rain at the semi-final Down Under a year back. With not a single ball possible at the SGC, Indians, who had finished higher during the group stage of the 2020 T20 World Cup, leapfrogged Heather Knight’s team to the final.
Besides, the series will provide both the countries a chance to keep their preparations in order for the next year’s women’s T20 competition at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games (CWG). The competition will mark cricket’s return to the quadrennial event after more than two decades.

ENG-W vs IND-W: Shikha Pandey, Ekta Bisht return to India’s T20I squad after missing South Africa series
After leaving them out for the South Africa series at home, India have recalled fast bowling all-rounder Shikha Pandey, left-arm spinner Ekta Bisht and wicketkeeper-batter Taniya Bhatia in their T20I squad for the England series.
Off-spinner Sneh Rana, who has impressed on comeback after four years through this trip, is also included. Besides, as a backup to Bhatia, India have handed a maiden call-up to Jharkhand wicketkeeper Indrani Roy. The selectors also retained young pacer Simran Bahadur after she made her debut against the visiting South Africans in March.
