WATCH: The silly fielding errors in the dying stages that arguably cost Delhi Capitals the game

Delhi Capitals deserve credit for bringing themselves back into the game out of nowhere on Wednesday night. Kolkata Knight Riders were 123/1 with four overs remaining while chasing 136 for a win when they decided to throw caution to the wind and go berserk, needlessly, and lose wickets in heaps.

The game spiralled down to a thriller as Kolkata lost six wickets in the space of seven runs with Kagiso Rabada’s sensational 18th over costing just one run. The South African quick had Rahul Tripathi at wits end with his cutters and accuracy and the KKR batter played out four dots on the trot before Eoin Morgan was cleaned up off the final ball to further tilt the game Delhi’s way.

With pressure mounting on Tripathi, who was on two off six balls (KKR needed 10 off 12 balls at this stage), Delhi’s fielding error let Tripathi off the hook. A punch of Anrich Nortje off the first ball of the 19th over was misfielded by Iyer at short cover and he ended up cocneding two runs, vital in the context of the game.
