UAE have endured a pretty impressive tournament so far with two victories from three matches and hence are comfortably positioned in the second spot of the table. Jersey, on the other hand, have won once and lost the same number of time and hence would be hoping to catch some positive momentum before approaching the crucial stages of the competition. However, UAE might just enter this particular encounter as the favorites to emerge victorious.
ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2019
Sheikh Zayed Stadium Nursery 1, Abu Dhabi
October 22nd, 2019
3:40 PM IST
Sunny weather with the temperature ranging around 32 degrees Celsius and no chances of rain is expected during the course of the game.
Abu Dhabi would most possibly present a good batting track, but it tends to wear down and become more difficult for batting during the second innings.
Predicted Playing XI:
United Arab Emirates:
Chirag Suri and Rohan Mustafa would have to shoulder the majority of the responsibility upfront for UAE whilst the likes of Waheed Ahmed and Junaid Siddique would be equally vital for the side. Ahmed Raza would lead the team and Zahoor Khan would be banked upon to deliver with the ball.
Chirag Suri, Rohan Mustafa, Rameez Shahzad, Waheed Ahmed, Darius D’Silva, Junaid Siddique, Mohammad Boota (WK), Ahmed Raza (C), Muhammad Usman, Imran Haider, Zahoor Khan
Nick Ferraby and Ben Stevens would have to steer Jersey’s batting order in the business stage of the innings, whilst Jake Dunford could be relied upon to provide the late surge of runs. Dominic Blampied and Anthony Hawkins-Kay continue to be the other integral figures in this XI.
Nick Ferraby, Harrison Carlyon, Ben Stevens, Jonty Jenner, Nick Greenwood, Benjamin Ward, Dominic Blampied, Anthony Hawkins-Kay, Julius Sumerauer, Jake Dunford (WK), Charles Perchard (C)
Rohan Mustafa was in a fine form for UAE against Hong Kong as he scored 44 runs at the top and provided a solid base to UAE to build on their innings from there. He was even more laudable with the ball, as Mustafa scalped two wickets in four overs whilst having conceded only 17 runs. Such all-round performance means that he merits a place in the Dream XI side for the upcoming match. Jonty Jenner was in scintillating touch for Jersey against Canada as he bagged 56 runs in merely 32 deliveries, in an innings that included three sixes and five boundaries in total. Charles Perchard has a good game with the ball too, as he had dismissed two batsmen in his quota of four overs at a meager economy rate of merely 5.25 RPO. If drafted in the fantasy team, these players could have a massive impact and hence earn a significant number of points as well.
1: Rohan Mustafa
2: Ben Stevens
3: Jonty Jenner
