The ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2019 kicks off as India takes on Nepal in what promises to be a thriller. Both teams look evenly matched on paper. While Nepal’s roster has a lot of international experience with the likes of KC Karan and Dipendra Singh Airee in their ranks. The Indians, though, have a lot of talent with Siddharth Desai and BR Sharath being ones to watch out for. Both sides will be looking to begin the campaign with a win and make it to the knockout phase later this month.
India ET vs Nepal ET
November 14th, 8:30 AM IST
Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan No 3 Ground, Savar
Not much is known about the pitch although the ones in Bangladesh generally favour the spinners. As the game progresses, more turn will be on offer while the batsmen should also find it easy once they get themselves in. Batting first on this pitch would be ideal upon winning the toss.
The weather is clear for this game with there being no chance of rain on Thursday. With the temperature hovering around 27 degrees, teams might prefer to bat first with some clouds also making an appearance during the course of the match
Injuries: No injuries are reported from either side
Probable Playing XI
Arjun Juyal, B Sharath, A Jaffer, Y Rathod, Sanvir Singh, Chinmay Sutar, Saurabh Dubey, Shivam Mavi, Siddharth Desai, Aditya Thakare and Kuldip Yadav
Nepal will come into this game as the clear favourites. With the likes of KC Karan and Dipendra Singh Airee in their ranks, Nepal has a lot of experience to bank on. With Sharad Vesawkar and Gyanendra Malla in the top order, Nepal’s middle order can accelerate in the middle overs. Their bowling unit is the stronger of the two with Avinash Bohara and Lalit Rajbanshi being crucial to their cause on Thursday.
Sharad Vesawkar, Binod Bhandari, Gyanendra Malla, Dipendra Airee, Aarif Sheikh, Sompal Kami, KC Karan, Avinash Bohara, Lalit Rajbanshi, Ishan Pandey and Pawan Sarraf
Sharath is picked as the lone wicket-keeper for this game considering his talent and experience whilst playing for Karnataka. He did impress in KPL 2019 as well and should score some runs in this game. Along with him, the Nepalese trio of Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee and Aarif Sheikh also warranty a place in the fantasy side. KC Karan was one of the standout players in the Oman Pentangular Series last month. He starred with both bat and ball and should be picked in this game alongside Shivam Mavi and Sanvir Singh, who has some experience playing for Punjab this year.
