Preview for IND vs NAM Dream11 Contest:

India will be taking on Namibia for the first time ever in a T20I on Monday (November 8) in what will also be two teams’ final encounter of the Super 12 stage at the T20 World Cup 2021.

For India, the context is simple. If Afghanistan manage to beat New Zealand a day earlier in Abu Dhabi, they have a chance of securing the semi-final berth provided they clinch a big win over Namibia.

But if Kiwis beat the Afghans, the Namibia game will be a dead rubber for the Indians, who lost to Pakistan and New Zealand at the start of their campaign.

In their last two matches, India clinched heavy defeats over Afghanistan and Scotland and lifted their net run rate above both Afghans and the Kiwis. But they still need Afghanistan to beat New Zealand if they are to have a chance of going through to the knock-outs.

For Namibia, having lost their last three matches in the Super 12s following the victory over Scotland, this is their final opportunity to further impress the cricket lovers around the world.

Probable Playing XI

India – KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli (c), Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin, Varun Chakravarthy, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah

Namibia – Stephan Baard, Craig Williams, Gerhard Erasmus (c), David Wiese, JJ Smit, Zane Green (wk), Michael van Lingen, Karl Birkenstock, Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton, Ruben Trumpelmann, Bernard Scholtz

Weather Update: Clear skies; 25 degrees C; wind 13 km/h

Pitch Report: Good, relatively flat deck with a hint of turn is how Dubai has played for the night games. Teams love to chase here and that won’t change for this game either.

IND vs NAM Dream11 Prediction

India will be eyeing another huge win in IND vs NAM game.

Having flexed their muscles over Afghanistan and Scotland, India will be looking to unleash their wrath over Namibia in a game which they start as overwhelming favourites. The Namibians may still have their moments but the Indians are far better resourced in all departments of the game and should be easily winning this one. As they did against Scotland, India’s spinners will be licking their lips at the prospect of bowling to another set of inexperienced batters on a dryish surface.

IND vs NAM Dream11 Captaincy Picks

1. KL Rahul (10 credits)

KL Rahul is a straightforward pick for captaincy keeping in mind his amazing form with the bat. The elegant right-hander blasted a 19-ball 50 in the win over Scotland, having posted 69 off 48 versus Afghanistan. He is India’s top run-getter of the tournament with 140 runs at a strike-rate of 153.84.

2. Rohit Sharma (10 credits)

Rohit is another fruitful captaincy choice because of his scores in the last two games. The experienced opener made a 47-ball 74 in the big win over Afghans and backed that up with a 16-ball 30 versus Scotland. Rohit missing out in the matches versus Pakistan and New Zealand despite being in good enough form is one major reason why India are on the brink of elimination.

3. Ravindra Jadeja (9 credits)

Ravindra Jadeja hasn’t got going with the bat in the tournament so far but the premier Indian allrounder has shined bright as a left-arm spinner, maintaining an economy rate of 6.53 with 4 wickets. In the last match against Scotland, Jadeja picked up 3/15 off his 4 overs. He’ll be eyeing a similar outing against the Namibians, who also aren’t renowned for playing spin.

IND vs NAM Dream11 Budget Picks

1. Ravichandran Ashwin (8.5 credits)

On his comeback assignment in T20Is, Ashwin has shown that he is still relevant to India’s cause in white-ball cricket. The off-spinner took 2/14 off his 4 overs in the win against Afghanistan and despite an iffy start, finished with figures of only 1/29 versus Scotland. He could’ve easily had more wickets to show for his day’s work against the Scottish side.

2. Varun Chakravarthy (8.5 credits)

He may not have been active in the wickets column but Chakravarthy has been quite miserly. In his three outings of the competition, he has gone for only 6.45 runs per over. He is a handy budget pick to have considering that the mystery element may just work for him to greater effect against Namibia.

3. Jan Frylinck (8.5 credits)

Left-arm pacer Frylinck has been one of Namibia’s better bowlers on show throughout the T20 World Cup. He is his team’s top wicket-taker of the competition with 8 scalps from 6 matches with an economy rate of 7.26.
