AUS vs IND, 2nd Test: Umesh Yadav suffers calf muscle injury, doubtful for next Test

Umesh Yadav is unlikely to take further part in the ongoing second Test match against Australia after he sustained a calf muscle injury. Yadav is also doubtful for the third Test match, according to BCCI sources.

Umesh Yadav walked off the field after sustaining an injury in the second innings of the Boxing Day Test Match and has been taken for scans. Yadav was in the middle of a fine spell, during which he experienced pain in his left leg and hobbled off the pitch.

“Umesh Yadav complained of pain in his calf while bowling his 4th over and was assessed by the BCCI medical team and he is being taken for scans now,” BCCI media team said in a statement.

Umesh Yadav had dismissed Joe Burns in his second over. Debutant, Siraj completed the rest of the over. Mohammed Shami was ruled out of the Test series after picking up an injury in the first Test match, adding to the injury woes of Team India.
