AUS vs IND, 2nd Test: Umesh Yadav suffers calf muscle injury, doubtful for next Test

Umesh Yadav is unlikely to take further part in the ongoing second Test match against Australia after he sustained a calf muscle injury. Yadav is also doubtful for the third Test match, according to BCCI sources.

Umesh Yadav walked off the field after sustaining an injury in the second innings of the Boxing Day Test Match and has been taken for scans. Yadav was in the middle of a fine spell, during which he experienced pain in his left leg and hobbled off the pitch.

“Umesh Yadav complained of pain in his calf while bowling his 4th over and was assessed by the BCCI medical team and he is being taken for scans now,” BCCI media team said in a statement.

Australia are currently in a state of bother, having a lead of 2 runs in the second innings and a victory for India looks imminent. India’s decision to go in with an extra bowler helped their cause in the second innings as they did a fine job, picking up 6 wickets on Day three.
