After their defeat against Australia Women in the ICC T20 World Cup final last year, India Women return to T20I action as they host South Africa for a three match T20I series. The short series will take place after the conclusion of the five match ODI series. The first T20I will take place on 20th March, with the last one being played on the 23rd of the same month. All three matches will be held in the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.
Sune Luus will lead the visitors in the absence of the injured, Dane van Niekerk. The hosts will be led by Harmanpreet Kaur with Smriti Mandhana being designated as the vice-captain.

Shafali Verma, the teenage batting sensation is one of the brightest talents in world cricket currently. At the age of just 17 years. she has played 19 T20Is for India, scoring 487 runs at an average of 27. The opener is a destructive batsman who can strike some huge blows. Her strike rate speaks volumes about her batting prowess. Her strike rate in T20I cricket crosses 145.
Jemimah Rodrigues is another talented batsman in the Indian team. The 20 year old right-handed batsman plays at number three for her national side. She has played 44 T20Is so far, scoring 930 runs at an average of 26. In a batting lineup that consists of hard hitters like, Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma, Jemimah brings some stability by playing a well-composed knock.
Mignon du Preez
Mignon du Preez, the right-handed batsman is one of the key players for the visitors. She has amassed 1740 runs in 106 T20Is and is one of the most experienced members in the South African squad. The 31 year old is expected to come in at number four and help her side steady the ship in the middle overs.
Shabnim Ismail will lead the bowling attack for the visitors. She has a prolific record in T20I cricket, where she has picked up 106 wickets in her 95 outings at an impressive average of just 18. Ismail was instrumental in guiding her side to a series victory over Pakistan, earlier this year as she picked up seven wickets in three T20Is, which includes a five wicket haul.
