IPL 2020 auction, a prelude to the celebrated summer festival in India, is set to go live on Thursday with 332 players up for grabs and 73 available spots to fill. Among the shortlisted 332 players, 186 are Indian, 143 overseas and three others are from associate nations.
Seven players – Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Chris Lynn, Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell from Australia, Dale Steyn from South Africa, and Angelo Mathews from Sri Lanka — come with the highest price tag of Rs 2 crore. The highest base price for an Indian is for Kolkata Knight Riders’ discard, Robin Uthappa.
Three other Indian players come with a base price of Rs 1 crore while a slew of West Indian and Australia players also come in the Rs 1 crore category. The auctioneer will be Hugh Edmeades like last time and all the franchises would be looking to make the most out of this auction.
