IPL 2020: Mumbai Indians v Sunrisers Hyderabad: Probable playing XI and team news

A very upbeat Sunrisers Hyderabad side, having defeated the Chennai Super Kings in their previous game, will be taking on the Mumbai Indians, who are coming off a massive win against the Kings XI Punjab themselves, in the first of the two IPL clashes scheduled today.

There has been something gripping about this contest in the last couple of years. In 2018, Sunrisers Hyderabad won a thrilling encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium at Uppal, with last man Billy Stanlake hitting the winning runs. The following year, the two teams tied with each other in the 51st match, and MI came out on top in the super over.

MI v SRH: Head-To-Head

The head-to-head record between the two sides is as level as it can get, with both teams triumphing 7 times each over each other. Although MI did the double over SRH last year, the Hyderabad-based franchise has won this contest thrice in their last 5 encounters.

Team News: Mumbai Indians (MI)

Mumbai Indians are unlikely to go into today’s game without making any changes. The only reasonable change they could make is Nathan Coulter-Nile for James Pattinson, but the way the Victorian has stepped up having replaced Lasith Malinga this year, he might well and truly be retaining his place in the side.

Probable XI: Quinton de Kock (wk), Rohit Sharma (c), Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, James Pattinson, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah

Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s injury in the latter stages of the game against CSK will remain a major concern for SRH going into today. The aggravation of the injury has not been unveiled by the men in orange, but there is a good chance that Bhuvneshwar might be rested for today, with Sandeep Sharma taking his place in the playing XI.

Probable XI: David Warner (c), Jonny Bairstow (wk), Manish Pandey, Kane Williamson, Priyam Garg, Abdul Samad, Abhishek Sharma, Rashid Khan, Sandeep Sharma, Khaleel Ahmed, Thangarasu Natarajan
