The 2020 Indian Premier League enters into its third week with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) taking on the Delhi Capitals. Both sides are coming off convincing wins in their previous outings, with DC triumphing over KKR in a high-scoring encounter at Sharjah.

Delhi Capitals did the double over the Royal Challengers Bangalore last year. A four wicket-haul from Kagiso Rabada and a half-century from skipper Shreyas Iyer helped Delhi win their away game by 4 wickets, and later in the tournament, DC romped home by 16 runs thanks to half-centuries from Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer and a disciplined bowling performance from the six bowlers used by the Capitals.

RCB v DC: Head-To-Head

Despite earning back-to-back defeats last year, the Royal Challengers Bangalore enjoy a gargantuan lead over the Capitals in the 12 editions of the IPL so far, winning 14 out the 23 matches played, and a match being washed out in 2015. Before 2019, RCB had a 2-year unbeaten run over the Capitals.

Despite Chris Morris returning to full fitness, RCB Head Coach Simon Katich had expressed intentions of the team fielding an unchanged XI for this clash after successive victories over the Mumbai Indians and the Rajasthan Royals. Although, it is still advisable to bring in a specialist wicketkeeper to offload the glovework duties from AB de Villiers, who might find it difficult to perform both roles in this climate every game.

Prithvi Shaw took a throw to his ankle while batting and did not walk out to field in the second innings. Therefore, there is a good chance of him missing out today, with Ajinkya Rahane taking his place in the side. Amit Mishra has also been ruled out of the entire season with finger injury. Axar Patel is expected to take his place.
