IPL 2020: SRH vs KXIP Game Plan 1 – The Rashid Khan Threat Looms Large

SRH vs KXIP – The twenty-second match of the IPL 2020 tournament between the teams, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab, could all be about match-ups. We take a look at a key game plan that could play a role in the twenty-second game of the IPL – SRH vs KXIP.

SRH vs KXIP – How big a threat is Rashid Khan

Rashid Khan is unarguably one of the best wrist spinners in world cricket at present and has been the key in middle overs for his side in the IPL so far. Starting the season with a couple of mediocre games, Rashid returned to his best against Delhi Capitals, picking 3 wickets and conceding just 14 runs. The following two games saw him bowl at an economy of 4.5, which also included a game against the power-packed Mumbai Indians at Sharjah.

In the 5 games so far, Rashid has bowled more than 50% of his balls as googlies and has been fairly successful as well, picking 4 of his 5 wickets with googlies. it will not be a surprise if he uses the same strategy against Mayank and Rahul, with Mayank already been dismissed with a googly this season.

IPL 2020: SRH vs KXIP Game Plan 1 – The Rashid Khan Threat Looms Large

Rashid’s return to form has made it easy for SRH to adopt their familiar strategy; put runs on the board and strangle the opposition with the ball. With the lineup KXIP have, they are at present over-reliant on Rahul, Mayank and to some extent Pooran. Rashid Khan might just prove to be extra-lethal against the already under-pressure batting unit.

Rashid Khan has been difficult to deal with for the KXIP batsmen, except Gayle, who KXIP are not keen on having in the XI at the moment. SRH might look to get Rashid in to bowl in the powerplays to break the opening partnership and put the middle order under pressure straight-away.
