IPL 2021 : For Krishnappa Gowtham, heavy price tag is not a concern

Krishnappa Gowtham, who was bought for a humongous price of 9.25 crores by Chennai Super Kings, has stated that he is ready to give his all for the MS Dhoni-led franchise and the heavy price tag doesn’t affect him at all.

After releasing Harbhajan Singh to the pool, CSK were devoid of an off-spinner, and to fill that spot, they broke the bank for two off-spinning all-rounders in the form of Krishnappa Gowtham and Moeen Ali, both went for a sustainable amount.

Huge money sometimes brings huge pressure in the Indian Premier League but Gowtham, who earlier represented Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals in the IPL, stated that he is not concerned about that.

“I am ready for every sort of challenge at CSK. Whatever responsibility they will give me, I will grab them with both hands. I am ready to perform with both bat and ball. I want to win matches for CSK,” Gowtham told TOI in an exclusive interview.

“The price tag doesn’t put any pressure on me, I just want to go and win matches for my team. I have domestic match experience with me. I don’t want to perform with a price tag on my mind. I am excited to play under Mahi (MS Dhoni) bhai and learn a number of things,” Gowtham added.

Gowtham happy to be a part of CSK now

The Bangalore-based all-rounder had a dream run with the India A side in several tours and his big-hitting ability is known to one and all. Gowtham wants to continue doing the same work for the Chennai-based franchise while expressing his happiness for being a part of the side.

“I am so happy that I am going to be a part of CSK now. As a cricketer, you want to get better every day and with time and that’s what I have been doing. I have been working so hard. I played some good knocks in the domestic circuit and took wickets as well. And I will aim to continue the same for CSK,” Gowtham added.
