Virat Kohli might’ve announced that he will be stepping down from the captaincy role for Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Indian T20 men’s side, but the leader inside him will not leave him that easy. Throughout his tenure as the captain, he has shown great exhibits of man management and backed many youngsters, let it be during his IPL time of the year or for the Indian team.

In the last few years, despite Virat Kohli not being at his absolute best, the number of runs he scored was bound to transcend him from a great to a legend. It has been 13 years since he played his first IPL game and a lot of those kids who saw him make his debut in 2008, are now themselves taking part in the IPL. They are not letting go of the opportunity to bring out the fanboy in them, and Kohli has been donning the teacher hat plenty of times.

He was seen consoling young Ishan Kishan a couple of days ago, who has been having a pretty rough patch recently. Today, after the game against Rajasthan Royals, he was spotted speaking to Yashasvi Jaiswal, Kartik Tyagi, Mahipal Lomror, and Anuj Rawat, all of whom were once stars at the U19 level for the national side.

Jaydev Unadkat, who has played for the national side alongside Kohli on a few occasions, was seen getting some autographs from the Indian skipper. Any young cricketer would love to pick the brains of a masterful batter like him or if not for that, just spend a few seconds next to him. The RR youngsters did not let go of that opportunity and Kohli spent some valuable time with them.

Virat Kohli slowly getting in form with the bat

Virat Kohli seems to be relishing the task of opening for his side now, and has looked in his vintage authoritative touch in the games against Mumbai and Rajasthan. He got a fifty against Mumbai whilst he got run-out by Riyan Parag in today’s fixture. He registered 332 runs for the side at an average just short of 35, which is a positive sign for the Indian contingent ahead of the T20 World Cup.
