Rishabh Pant was seen wearing a hilarious expression as the toss in Dubai fell against him ahead of his team’s last league stage encounter of the IPL 2021 versus Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Friday (October 8).

The Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper made a nervous-looking face which quickly changed into a beeming smile after his counterpart and India captain Virat Kohli had the toss falling in his favour before opting to bowl first, which, by the looks of it, Pant also wanted to do.

A moment of fun and laughs is never far away from Pant, whose expression said everything when he saw the toss fell on the surface in Dubai. The cricketer even shared a fist bump while grinning with Kohli, who couldn’t help but smirk seeing Pant’s expression.

Rishabh Pant involved in another funny incident

This, of course, is not the first instance where Rishabh Pant has been involved in fun and games during the second half of the IPL 2021. Earlier in the UAE leg, the cricketer was seen sharing a few lighter moments with Rajasthan Royals (RR) skipper Sanju Samson. Back then also, Pant had lost the toss but could see the funny side of things with his India teammate and friend.

But Pant as DC captain is not just about the fun. The aggressive left-hand batter and ever-improving gloveman has proven himself to be an able leader of men in this year’s edition of the IPL. Pant has led DC’s immensely successful run to the top of the pile in IPL 2021, overseeing 10 victories in 13 matches.

He has also contributed 352 runs from his 13 innings of the tournament so far with an average of 35.20 and strike-rate of 127.07, including two half-centuries.

Pant’s success as a leader can also be gauged by the fact that the DC team management and ownership group chose to retain him at the helm of affairs for the UAE leg despite former captain Shreyas Iyer recovering from the shouldering injury that had ruled him out of the Indian leg in April and May.

DC will hope that their captain can continue charting the bigger heights as they approach the playoffs. Rishabh Pant would love to become the first Delhi captain to hold an IPL trophy.
