WATCH: Jadeja-Dhoni masterplan goes futile as Rishabh Pant shows terrific reflexes

Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni have worked together to pull off some amazing dismissals over the years and they nearly did that to the birthday boy and the Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant. In the game between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals, Ravindra Jadeja worked something spontaneously and had MS Dhoni nearly work out a plan that could’ve disappointed Delhi Capitals fans.

Jadeja noticed Pant dancing down the track and he bowled it wide down his leg. He bowled it pretty quick as well, to ensure Pant does not get hold of the ball. It was a tough take for MS Dhoni to get around, pick the ball up and stump Pant. However, he managed to do everything he could, as well he usually does.

But much to the surprise of everyone watching, and unlike most people who fell in the Dhoni-Jadeja trap in the past, Pant did not. Upon noticing the ball sliding down the leg, he made a quick trackback jump to get his bat back on time. In real-time, it did not look like it would be enough, and in an era without TV umpires perhaps he would’ve been given out, but quite surprisingly, Pant reached on time.

Rishabh Pant is known for his quick reflexes and his superb movement was up for the fans to witness once again. Here’s that incident where Jadeja and Dhoni’s shrewdness went in vain, as Pant’s hard work in training bailed him out.

Ravindra Jadeja, however, wasn’t disappointed with his master plan going down the drain. He managed to keep his cool and got his reward almost instantly. Jadeja got hit for a four and bowled a dot ball after this talked-about moment and instantly after that, he managed to induce a mistimed slog-sweep from the batter.

Jadeja fired it in quick, at over 105 kph, and Pant could only slice it to backward point where Moeen Ali took a comfortable catch. An eventful over culminated with the yellow army having the final laugh.
