Two of the strongest teams in Jamaica Tallawahs and Trinbago Knight Riders face off against each other on Saturday in Match 10 of CPL 2019. Both teams did face off earlier in the tournament with TKR coming out victorious with Sunil Narine and Tion Webster doing the damage. With a change in venue, Jamaica will be optimistic of their chances with Chris Gayle in ominous form. All in all, a highly entertaining match is on the cards at Sabina Park.
A decent batting track awaits both sides with the pacers getting some help from the surface. Although it might be tough going initially, batters should bide their time in order to achieve a par score of around 170 with the spinners also coming into play as the match progresses.
There isn’t any threat of rain with the temperatures hovering around 26 to 32 degrees. Dew might play a factor later on which forces captains to chase on this surface.
Injuries: Andre Russell was taken off on a stretcher last game and should be replaced for this game
Jamaica Tallawahs should field a similar side to what they have persisted with over the course of CPL 2019. Chris Gayle and Glenn Phillips will open the batting with the duo of Walton and Powell providing the impetus towards the end of the innings. Their bowling unit is heavily reliant on Oshane Thomas and Shamar Springer and will expect them to fire in this high octane match.
Chris Gayle, Glenn Phillips, Chadwick Walton, Rovman Powell, Kennar Lewis, George Worker, Shamar Springer, Zahir Khan, Chris Lamont, Oshane Thomas and Jerome Taylor
As for TKR, Colin Munro returns to the playing with CPL 2018’s top run-scorer being unavailable for the first three matches. He should slot in alongside Lendl Simmons with Sunil Narine and Tion Webster going down the order. Jimmy Neesham and Kieron Pollard provide the balance to this side while the likes of Hasnain and Pierre have also impressed with the ball in hand. They enter the game as the favourites owing to their superior balance in their playing XI.
Sunil Narine, Lendl Simmons, Colin Munro, Tion Webster, Kieron Pollard, Jimmy Neesham, Denesh Ramdin, Khary Pierre, Seekuge Prasanna, Mohd Hasnain and Javon Searles
Colin Munro was brilliant for TKR last season and should continue from where he left. Along with the Kiwi, Chris Gayle and Andre Russell are also viable options considering their form and ability to win matches singlehandedly. JT captain, Rovman Powell is also one to watch out for while Jimmy Neesham and Glenn Phillips should also earn some fantasy points. Hasnain and Pierre have been consistently picking wickets and will be expected to continue in the same vein along with Oshane Thomas.
1. Sunil Narine
