WATCH: Jasprit Bumrah clone (with a twist) spotted in European Cricket

In the European Cricket Championship, a bowler – Schahir Malikzai of Germany – was spotted with a fairly unique action. However, it wouldn’t appear very unique for the Indians as they see someone in their line-up every week doing the same. This bowler in the European Cricket Championship was seen emulating Jasprit Bumrah and that grabbed plenty of attention even from those who aren’t following this league.

Bumrah’s slow and small run-up to the crease has often made experts wonder how he generates so much pace despite not running in with significant momentum. However, he isn’t the only one who generates pace purely by his arm, the most notable example being Wasim Akram. This cricketer was seen doing pretty much the same in the ECC, although his run-up was a bit longer, he looked like a proper clone of the Indian fast bowler.

Played on mat wickets, the European Cricket Championship runs with a motive to globalize the sport’s popularity in countries where Football has been their primal sporting source of entertainment. However, most people who take part in this competition hail from the subcontinent countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan.

Hence, it comes as no surprise that there are people in Europe who are trying to emulate the Indian superstar. Here’s the video of that bowler who tried his bit to be Bumrah.

Can Jasprit Bumrah help Mumbai Indians reach playoffs?

Having had a demoralizing run of games after landing in the UAE, where they lost their opening three games to Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore, the Mumbai Indians finally got off the mark. Mumbai Indians are currently 5th on the table, just behind Kolkata Knight Riders only because of their deteriorated Net run rate.

The Mumbai Indians have three games remaining in this edition’s Indian Premier League to once again make it to the playoffs. They will be in desperate need of Jasprit Bumrah in certain situations moving forward and it is imperative that the pacer remains in top form. He has picked up 16 wickets this season and is the third-highest wicket-taker of the edition.
