JOZ vs CTB Dream11 Prediction for today’s match: The first game of the much-awaited Mzanzi Super League 2019 takes place on Friday as the defending champions, Jozi Stars faces Cape Town Blitz in a repeat of last year’s final. Both teams have managed to retain most of the players from last year while making a few key additions as well. While Cape Town Blitz is without Farhaan Behardian, Jozi Stars is now led by Temba Bavuma, who recently made his T20I debut for South Africa as well. With both sides looking evenly matched, a cracking encounter is expected to kickstart MSL 2.0.
JOZ vs CTB Dream11 Prediction, MSL 2019, Match 1: Fantasy Cricket Tips, Playing XI, Pitch Report, Team and Weather Conditions
Jozi Stars vs Cape Town Blitz, Match 1
November 8th, 9:00 PM IST
New Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg
The pitch at the Wanderers is usually a good batting track with teams often preferring to chase here. Although there is some help for both the pacers and spinners, batsmen should have the final say in the outcome of the game. 170 should be competitive given the firepower on either side.
The weather in Johannesburg is clear with there being no chance of any rain interruption. While humidity could play a role as the game progresses, pacers should find some help with the overlying conditions. The temperature will range in between 25 and 29 degrees Celsius over the course of the game.
No injuries are reported from either side
Probable Playing XI
Jozi Stars will enter this game as the firm favourites with Chris Gayle set to feature at the top of the order alongside Reeza Hendricks. The onus will also be upon captain, Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen, who was the highest run-scorer in last year’s MSL. With the likes of Simon Harmer and Daniel Christian also in their ranks, they have good depth in the batting unit as well to complement a very strong bowling unit led by Kagiso Rabada. Duanne Olivier, who plays for Yorkshire, is certainly one to watch out for in this game.
Cape Town Blitz:
Cape Town Blitz, who finished second best to Jozi Stars last time around, will be looking to exact revenge on Friday. While they do not avail the services of Farhaan Behardian, the inclusions of Liam Livingstone and Moeen Ali bodes well for the Blitz. Quinton de Kock is key at the top of the order with youngster, Janneman Malan also capable of scoring runs at a quick rate. Like their opponents, CTB also has a well-rounded bowling unit led by Dale Steyn and Anrich Nortje with new signing, Vernon Philander also complementing them well with his ability to swing the new ball and experience.
Top Picks for Jozi Stars vs Cape Town Blitz Dream11 Team:
Quinton de Kock, Reeza Hendricks and Rassie van der Dussen were the top three run-scorers in MSL 2018 with each of them scoring in excess of 400 runs. While more of the same is expected from the three South African internationals, they are picked in the side for this game. Burly West Indian, Chris Gayle is overlooked for Janneman Malan, who had a standout MSL 2018 with 305 runs in nine games. The Cape Town Blitz duo of Liam Livingstone and Moeen Ali also find a place in the side with the allrounders expected to contribute with both and ball. While Kagiso Rabada and Dale Steyn are must haves in the side for this encounter, Anrich Nortje and Duanne Olivier should also pick a wicket or two on Friday.
1. Reeza Hendricks
2. Liam Livingstone
