WATCH: Kieron Pollard fooled by Russell yorker; ends up leaving it between his legs

Andre Russell had a spectacular game last time around, but he didn’t have the best of days against the Mumbai Indians. He conceded 37 runs in his 3 overs without picking a wicket, but he had one moment against Kieron Pollard that will make him laugh for many years to come. As Harsha Bhogle mentioned in the commentary to this delivery, “There are ways to leave the delivery, and then there is this!”.

In the 19th over of the innings, Andre Russell had the tough task of containing the Mumbai finishers for getting a big score. He conceded a six to Krunal Pandya on the second ball, but after the strike changed, a comical moment happened that got a smile on everybody’s face.

Russell bowled a picture-perfect yorker to Kieron Pollard, just about on the leg stump line. The ball was sliding inwards to the right-hander and Kieron Pollard had no time to move. He decided to leave the ball and let it go between his legs and because it was within his body, he did not get a wide as well.

Kieron Pollard hunting for rhythm in UAE

Kieron Pollard has batted twice in UAE this season and on both occasions, despite getting a few boundaries, has struggled to find a rhythm. His strike rate has been well under par and chipped in with a couple of cameos that neither hurt his team or did them a favor.

The Mumbai Indians before the Kolkata game had 4 wins in 8 games and are in need of some big performances in the coming weeks. They are keen on becoming the first-ever team to win the IPL title three times in a row, having done a spectacular job to win the tournament on the last two occasions. But as the tournament history suggests, only one team has gone on to win the tournament in spite of not finishing in the top two since the introduction of the playoff system, and it looks increasingly unlikely they will complete a hat-trick.
