Massive praise for India cricket team; Kohli’s success

Legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar expressed his amusement and came up with massive praise for the India cricket team led by Virat Kohli. Gavaskar also said that the current team is the best ever produced in the history of Indian cricket.

This is because the team finished as the no.1 Test squad for five consecutive years. Gavaskar also noticed that the current team has a long list of match-winners.

‘Comparisons are always a little bit difficult but I think this is probably the finest Indian team that we have seen. It’s such a well-balanced team. It’s got champion batsmen, it’s got champion fast bowlers, fabulous spinners. They’ve got a very good wicketkeeper. A young wicketkeeper who is going to dominate world cricket for a long, long time’, Gavaskar said.

Gavaskar is one of the greatest batsmen in Test cricket and was the first cricketer to score centuries in both innings of a Test match thrice. He was also known for his fast bowling technique with an average of 65.45. This must be one of the reasons why the India cricket team is inspired to maintain and improve their impressive latest cricket scores

After expressing his thoughts about the performance of the team, the fans were reminded how the team produced high-class players and showed a great match these past few years.

‘I believe that from what I have seen, from 1960 onwards, this has got to be the best Indian team ever. For the simple reason that it’s so balanced. There is no weakness at all. You could say at the top, or here and there, but I don’t think there is any weakness in this Indian team’. Gavaskar stated.

Kohli’s success because of his strong mindset

Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan said that he was amazed by Kohli believing in his own strength. Kohli’s faith in his batting activities helped him to lead the squad to victory.

Kohli is the current captain of the India national team and a right-handed top-order batsman. He is also regarded as one of the best contemporary batsmen in the world. Throughout his career, Kohli received several awards such as the Arjuna Award (2013), ICC Test Player of the Year (2018), and Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna (2018).

‘If there is any other batsman, he will come under pressure if you bowl well to him. He will play a shot that is not his strength like a sweep, a slog sweep or any other different stroke. (But) Virat will follow his own process. He goes with his mind. He has his own style and he goes with that. He doesn’t do anything different. I think that is why he is very successful. He has a process’, Khan said.

‘He will respect good balls. He will punish loose balls. He has great self-belief. Some batsmen don’t have self-belief. That is why they struggle. He believes in his own strength’, he added.

Khan also said that he was impressed with India’s vice-captain Rohit Sharma’s ability. Sharma is a right-handed batsman and an occasional right-arm off-break bowler. Aside from cricket, he is the official Rhino Ambassador for the WWF-India and a proud member of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

On the other hand, Khan is an Afghan right-handed batsman who is also the captain of the national team. He also led the team in a one-off Test against Bangladesh. Believe it or not, he was regarded as the youngest cricketer to captain a Test match.
