WATCH: Naseem Shah’s unplayable over to Fakhar Zaman & Rizwan in the National T20 Cup

Young Naseem Shah is touted as one of the most promising talents in the cricketing world. The Pakistan pacer is currently in action against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the Southern Punjab side in the National T20 Cup of the 2021/22 edition. He seems to be enjoying life in the competition and produced an outstanding over for his side in their pursuit to defending the 154-run target.

Northern Punjab batted decently in their first innings to get to 152 runs before getting bowled out. Mohammed Imran chipped in with a timely half-century to help his side get the 150-mark.

In the second innings, Naseem Shah picked up the ball to bowl the second over of the game. He managed to move the first two balls away to the right-handed Mohammed Rizwan, very nearly catching the edge as Rizwan tried to fish the ball. Rizwan got off strike to let Fakhar Zaman face the music for the remainder of the over, and it proved to be a bit too much for the southpaw.

Fakhar Zaman defended the ball that didn’t move and failed to see the deadly blockhole coming his way. Naseem Shah’s final ball of the over moved inward slightly to the left-hander and Zaman had no answer to the yorker. Rizwan and Sahibzada Farhan managed to tidy things up for the batting side and ensured no other wickets fell for another 10 overs, but this over from the speedster will make the fans incredibly happy.

Naseem Shah desperate to prove his white-ball credentials

Despite becoming the 9th youngest cricketer ever to make his Test debut, Naseem Shah has found it difficult to make it to the white ball setup. The likes of Haris Rauf, Mohammed Hasnain and Shaheen Afridi are keeping him out of the team, but if his recent performances in their domestic competition is anything to go by, he is likely to break open that door soon.
