The Northern Warriors will take on the Deccan Gladiators in the 18th match of the 2021 Abu Dhabi T10 League at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi on 2nd February at 10 PM IST.

After losing their first game, the Northern Warriors have managed to bring their campaign back on track in fine style by winning their next three games. The likes of Waseem Muhammad, skipper Nicholas Pooran and the experience of Lendl Simmons have helped them immensely so far.

Although Deccan Gladiators were third in their group and began the ‘Super League’ phase with a loss, they would be buoyed by skipper Kieron Pollard’s welcome return to form. The likes of Sunil Narine and Cameron Delport can also help the Gladiators take-off on their day.

As far as head-to-head is concerned, these two have played each other only once, and the Northern Warriors had comfortably got the better of the Deccan Gladiators.

Let’s have a look at the probable XI’s for both the teams for this game.

Northern Warriors Probable XI:

Lendl Simmons, Brandon King, Nicholas Pooran (c & wk), Rovman Powell, Waseem Muhammad, Rayad Emrit, Fabian Allen, Wayne Parnell, Junaid Siddique, Wahab Riaz, Dhananjaya Lakshan

Deccan Gladiators Probable XI:

Mohammad Shahzad (wk), Cameron Delport, Kieron Pollard (c), Azam Khan, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Sunil Narine, Imtiaz Ahmed, Anwar Ali, Imran Tahir, Zahoor Khan, Ravi Rampaul.

NW vs DG Dream11 Prediction:

The Gladiators have lost three out of their last four games and the last thing they would have wanted is to come up against a rampant Warriors side. Thus, Nicholas Pooran’s men are likely to get the better of their opponents this time around too.

NW vs DG Dream11 Team for Grand League:

NW vs DG Dream11

Mohammad Shahzad, Nicholas Pooran, Cameron Delport, Kieron Pollard, Rovman Powell, Waseem Muhammad, Sunil Narine, Imran Tahir, Ravi Rampaul, Wayne Parnell, Wahab Riaz

Captain: Kieron Pollard

Kieron Pollard has shown in different T20 leagues around the world that he is at his best when the chips are down. Although he has not had the best of tournaments yet, he seemed to have found his range in the last game with a quickfire 48. Thus, with his team needing to start winning a few games, Pollard might well be the star performer.

Vice-captain: Waseem Muhammad

Waseem Muhammad finally seemed to hit his straps with a brilliant match-winning 76 in his last game. Thus he would be in fine form and could be a dark horse to do well against the Deccan Gladiators.

NW vs DG Dream11

Mohammad Shahzad, Nicholas Pooran, Cameron Delport, Kieron Pollard, Lendl Simmons, Waseem Muhammad, Sunil Narine, Imran Tahir, Ravi Rampaul, Wayne Parnell, Wahab Riaz

Captain: Lendl Simmons

Lendl Simmons is an extremely experienced opener and has given decent starts to the Gladiators in the past couple of games. Having earned 198 fantasy points already, Simmons is due to play a big innings and that could well happen against the Northern Warriors.

Vice-captain: Sunil Narine

Sunil Narine has been a dangerous all-rounder in the shorter formats and hasn’t quite yet hit the straps as a batsman this season. However, he still remains a big name that can fire in any game and thus is not a bad choice for a vice-captain.

NW vs DG Dream11 Team for Head-to-head League:

NW vs DG Dream11Mohammad Shahzad, Nicholas Pooran, Cameron Delport, Kieron Pollard, Lendl Simmons, Waseem Muhammad, Sunil Narine, Imran Tahir, Zahoor Khan, Wayne Parnell, Wahab Riaz

Captain: Nicholas Pooran

With 260 fantasy points in the league so far, Pooran is by far the safest choice for a captain. He has had an odd innings where he was out on a duck. But other than that, the Northern Warriors captain has been simply sensational and will look to continue his rich vein of form.

Vice-captain: Kieron Pollard

It might well be a showdown of the captains as Kieron Pollard looked to be in great touch in his last game. If he can get a few in the middle, we might be in for a Pollard masterclass against the Warriors.
