The first game on Monday pits favourites, Netherlands against Asian side, Nepal at the Al Amerat Cricket Ground. Colin Ackermann’s introduction to international cricket for the Dutch side didn’t go as planned as Ireland inflicted a defeat on them. With the half way mark of this short tournament approaching, Netherlands would love to get a win under their belts although Nepal is dangerous on such kinds of pitches. As seen in the recently concluded Singapore T20-I series, Nepal did give a scare to Zimbabwe with Paras Khadka and Sandeep Lamichhane starring for them in the series itself.

Probable Playing XI:

Netherlands:

Netherlands will bring in Ryan ten Doeschate for this game with this being a must-win game. Tonny Staal could make way for him with the likes of Ben Cooper and Colin Ackermann getting some runs in the previous game. Their bowling unit has a lot of experience in their ranks as well with Roelof van der Merwe leading the line. He comes into the tournament on the back of fairly successful T20 Blast for Somerset and will be key to their fortunes.
Tobias Visee, Max ODowd, Ben Cooper, Colin Ackermann, Ryan ten Doeschate, Pieter Seelar, Scott Edwards, Roelof van der Merwe, Shane Snater, Paul van Meekeren and Fred Klaassen.

Nepal:

Nepal should field it’s strongest side for this game with a lot of responsibility on captain, Paras Khadka, who scored a hundred against Singapore last month. A lot is expected from their star leggie, Sandeep Lamichhane along with the likes of KC Karan and Sompal Kami. Aarif Sheikh scored 72 runs in three outings for Nepal in the Singapore T20 series and would be one to watch out for along with Dipendra Airee.
Paras Khadka, Aarif Sheikh, Dipendra Airee, Kusal Malla, Binod Bhandari, Pawan Sarraf, Sompal Kami, KC Karan, Sandeep Lamichhane, Abinash Bohara and Sundeep Jora.

He is a must have player for this game along with the likes of Paras Khadka and Roelof van der Merwe. Sandeep Lamichhane’s experience in T20 Franchise cricket should serve him well while Max ODowd, who scored a quickfire 38 is also one to watch out for in this game.
