In Babar Azam’s first Test as Pakistan captain, which will be played against South Africa in Karachi, the selectors have decided to infuse young blood with as many as six uncapped players finding a spot in the side.

After the training camp in the lead up to the series, Pakistan selectors have left out Abdullah Shafique, Kamran Ghulam, and Salman Ali Agha from the final squad that will enter the bubble. But they have persisted with the likes of Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan.

Haris Rauf, Shaheen Afridi, and Tabish Khan will take care of the pace bowling department alongside Hasan Ali while Faheem Ashraf and Mohammad Nawaz are the only two all-round options. Nauman Ali and Sajid Khan will be helping Yasir Shah in the spin bowling department.

In the batting category, there is no place for Shan Masood, Mohammad Abbas, and Haris Sohail who have been left out of the squad that had lost the Test series in New Zealand. The absence of Shadab Khan due to a hamstring issue has continued for yet another series, while Naseem Shah’s hamstring niggle didn’t recover enough to be selected for the Karachi Test.
