Prithvi Raj Yarra replaces Bhuvneshwar Kumar at SRH for 2020 IPL

Andhra Pradesh left-arm seamer Prithvi Raj Yarra has been called up to the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad to replace the injured Bhuvneshwar Kumar for the remainder of the 2020 Indian Premier League. The franchise confirmed the replacement via a post on Twitter.

Bhuvneshwar sustained the injury during the latter stages of the match against Chennai Super Kings in Dubai on Friday. “The support staff was keeping a tab on his injury, but unfortunately, he has been ruled out. He is an integral part of the team and his absence will be a big blow,” a source said.

Prithvi Raj Yarra was with the Kolkata Knight Riders squad in the IPL last year, bought at a base price of 20 Lacs in the auction. He made his IPL debut against the team he has been called up to this year, and almost got the prized wicket of Jonny Bairstow in his first over, only for KC Cariappa to spill the catch. He went for 29 off his three overs along with David Warner’s wicket, and went on to play one more match that season before being replaced by Harry Gurney in the 47th match against Mumbai Indians.
