How did that happen? WATCH Quinton de Kock’s freak dismissal to Hazlewood

Quinton de Kock is off to a terrible start in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. The Proteas batter was struggling to connect the ball for a while, and in a bid to break the shackles, he dismissed himself in the most hilarious and unusual ways possible.

The left-handed batter had scored just one boundary until then, and was off to an uncharacteristic start. He usually loves to go after the bowlers straight away, but Glenn Maxwell and Mitchell Starc made things difficult for him. However, things began to unravel badly for them after Temba Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussen were dismissed, adding further pressure on the opener.

Quinton de Kock tried to ramp Josh Hazlewood, and the bowler was smart enough to follow the batter’s movement. De Kock did not get a bat on that, and the ball hit his thigh to scoop up in the air. The batter lost sight of the ball, and before he could realize, it looped up and fell on the stumps. It was a disastrous way for a batter to get dismissed, but there was nothing he could do.
