RCB issues apology to fans after indifferent tweet from their hacked account goes viral

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) issued an apology to their loyal fanbase after an inappropriate tweet from their hacked official account did the rounds. 

RCB’s official Twitter handle @RCBTweets was hacked on Monday (September 13) and the hackers made one noticeable non-cricketing tweet.

RCB “condemn” the tweet made from their hacked account 

In their statement made after they overcame the hacking issue, RCB confirmed that their account had indeed been “compromised”. 

The Virat Kohli led immensely popular franchise also said they “condemn” the tweet made by the hackers and do not at all endorse the content that they posted.

“Dear 12th Man Army, our Twitter account was compromised a few hours ago and we have now managed to get the access back,” RCB informed. 

“We condemn the tweet that the hackers put out and we do not endorse any content from that tweet, which we have now deleted. We regret the inconvenience caused,” the franchise added. 

 

RCB playing squad and team management as well as the ownership group are gearing up for the start of the UAE leg of the IPL 2021. The tournament resumes on September 19. 

RCB are placed third in the points table with five wins and two losses from their seven matches. 

Kohli’s men will restart their campaign with a game in Abu Dhabi on September 20 against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
