Hanuma Vihari and Rishabh Pant score tons as India A take a commanding lead

Rishabh Pant and Hanuma Vihari scored impressive tons on Day 2 of the practice match between India A and Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground. Shubman Gill and Mayank Agarwal chipped in with half centuries as India A ended the day with a score of 386 runs for the loss of 4 wickets, extending their second innings lead to 472.

Mark Steketee gave the hosts a good start as he dismissed Prithvi Shaw, earlier in the day. Gill and Mayank Agarwal stitched together a good partnership of 104 runs for the second wicket. However. Mitchell Swepson dismissed Gill who was caught in the slips.

With the score reading 161 for 3, Ajinkya Rahane, India’s test team vice captain was at the crease alongside Vihari. They stitched together a partnership of 78 runs before Steketee dismissed Rahane. Next on to the crease was Rishabh Pant, who combined with Vihari to post an unbeaten stand of 147 runs in just 23 overs.

Vihari completed his century in the 86th over. Rishabh Pant was smashing the ball all across the ground as he registered a century off the final ball of the day, by finding the fence. The left-hander smashed nine fours and six sixes. With this hundred, he also pressed his case to be included in the Indian test playing 11 for the first test at Adelaide.
