An amusing character on and off the field, Rishabh Pant is known for doing things differently. Whether it is with his unorthodox methods at the crease or his antics and wordplay from behind the stumps, Pant sure has a tendency to get under the skins of his opposition and leave his fans amazed.

In the ongoing Test series against England, while the young gun hasn’t yet had a major impact with the bat, he has shown a marked improvement in his glovework from the last trip. Pant has been excellent keeping to all of the Indian seamers and even Ravindra Jadeja whenever he has been brought on.

The 23-year-old has left hardly anything close to his radar against the world-class Indian attack and one can see that the hardwork put into his glovework in the last three years is paying him rich dividends in conditions where historically visiting keepers have tended to struggle on their initial trips.

Rishabh Pant, however, doesn’t believe in resting on his past performance and has been seen putting in the hard yards in practice at Trent Bridge and Lord’s on this trip.

Leaving no stone unturned, Pant hasn’t just been practising with the rest of the Indian players but has also taken out time to do some extra fielding drills with his English counterparts.

Ahead of Day 2 of the now-concluded second Test at Lord’s, the Indian keeper was seen taking catches with some England fieldsmen. In the clip below, one can see Pant and few home team fielders practising slip catches before the start of action at the ‘Home of Cricket.

Rishabh Pant may have managed only 84 runs off his three innings in the series so far but he remains pivotal to India’s chances of going all the way and clinching the ‘Pataudi’ Trophy in England for the first time since 2007.

Pant has now played 23 Tests for India with 1,487 runs at an average of 42.48, including three centuries and six half-centuries. He was integral to India’s surge towards the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) against New Zealand in June, with impactful knocks in series wins in Australia and at home versus England.
