Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant, Shubman Gill, Prithvi Shaw and Navdeep Saini have been placed under precautionary isolation after a video surfaced on social media which showed the players dining in an indoor restaurant in Melbourne on New Year’s Day.

A fan posted a video of the five cricketers in the restaurant and also tweeted that he paid the bill for the cricketers, receiving a hug from Rishabh Pant in return, which was he retracted in a later tweet.

In a media release, both BCCI and CA are “investigating the matter and seeking to determine whether the outing constitutes a breach of biosecurity protocols.”

This will include separating the group of players from the broader Indian and Australian squads when traveling and at the training venue,” stated a release from Cricket Australia.
