Preview for SA vs BAN Dream11 Contest:

South Africa will take on Bangladesh in an important Group 1 encounter in the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup 2021 on Tuesday (November 1) in Abu Dhabi.

The Proteas are heading into the contest significantly better placed in the competition, having kept Sri Lanka at bay in their last match to be 2 wins up from their three games so far.

For Bangladesh, this will be a game played for respect more than anything else as their failure to close out matches versus Sri Lanka and West Indies – either side of a heavy defeat to England – has already ended their semi-final hopes.

That, however, doesn’t mean that the Proteas can take them lightly, especially considering they themselves require a win to keep their campaign alive and not be dependent on other teams’ results.

Probable Playing XI:

South Africa – Temba Bavuma (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram, Reeza Hendricks, David Miller, Dwaine Pretorius, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje, Tabraiz Shamsi

Bangladesh – Soumya Sarkar, Mohammad Naim, Liton Das (wk), Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah (c), Afif Hossain, Mahedi Hasan, Shoriful Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed

Weather Update: Sunny; 35 degrees C; 15 km/h

Pitch Report:

The surface in Abu Dhabi has offered a nice balance in terms of playing true for the batters and also giving spinners and pacers something to work with. It has played drier in the afternoon, though, and has gone flatter as the game goes deeper. Expect another such track where toss does become quite crucial.

South Africa will be hoping to continue their winning run in SA vs BAN fixture.

The way they won their cliff-hanger with Sri Lanka, Proteas, who are already the more robust of the two sides, would’ve also felt a genuine confidence booster heading into the Bangladesh game. But batting against spin is till an area of concern for them. If that is taken care of, though, they should be able to dominate this match, especially considering Bangladesh’s lead spinner and allrounder Shakib Al Hasan is ruled out with injury. Bangladesh lack powerhitting skills with the bat and a bowling attack capable of executing the defensive lengths regularly.

SA vs BAN Dream11 Captaincy Picks

1. Aiden Markram (9 credits)

Markram may have not quite got going in the last match versus Sri Lanka but has been in magnificent form with the bat. In the previous two matches, he played knocks of 40 and 51* for the Proteas. This year in T20Is, Markram has scored 518 runs with an average of 43.16 and strike-rate of 146.32.

2. Anrich Nortje (9.5 credits)

Nortje has been South Africa’s most exceptional bowler in the T20 World Cup 2021 so far. The tall pacer has made excellent use of the dry, uneven surfaces in UAE, taking 5 wickets from his 3 outings while maintaining an economy rate of just 5.16.

3. Tabraiz Shamsi (9 credits)

Shamsi has been outstanding for South Africa. The lead wristspinner bowled a terrific spell of 3/17 in the win over Sri Lanka. He has an economy rate of only 6.90 for the tournament. Shamsi’s game has been on an impressive upward curve since his elevation in the side as South Africa’s first-choice white-ball spinner.

SA vs BAN Dream11 Budget Picks

1. Keshav Maharaj (8.5 credits)

Maharaj has slipped under the radar mostly but the left-arm spinner has quietly played his part in keeping South Africa’s campaign going. He has bowled his overs at an RPO of only 6.75 while taking three wickets from his three outings.

2. David Miller (8.5 credits)

Miller came to the party when South Africa desperately needed him to. With the game slipping away, the left-hander played a fantastic knock of 23 not out, including two sixes in the final over, to help Proteas win over Sri Lanka. Against a hapless Bangladesh bowling attack, if Miller gets into the act again, he is going to go really big.

3. Mahedi Hasan (8.5 credits)

Off-spinner Mahedi Hasan has found it more difficult to retain a wood over batters since the start of the Super 12s. But still, has managed to stitch together tight spells through the middle-overs. He has an economy rate of only 5.95 for the tournament with 7 scalps from his six outings.
