SA vs ENG Dream11 Fantasy Preview and Prediction:

After sealing a 3-1 win in a format that England aren’t considered the best at, most cricket fans expected the visitors to dominate the white-ball formats. However following some mixed performances in the ODI series, England stumbled once again in the 1st T20I on Wednesday.

After choosing to bowl first, England were on the back-foot straightaway as the Top 3 consisting of Temba Bavuma, Quinton de Kock and Rassie van der Dussen made merry in the first ten overs. Even after the trio fell, South Africa were positioned well at 113/3 after 11.3 overs. But owing to some quality death bowling from Chris Jordan and Mark Wood, South Africa could only manage to post 177-8.

In return, Jason Roy was at his very best as he came up with a stunning 38-ball 70 with skipper Eoin Morgan providing able support with a fifty. This meant that England were coasting to a victory until a late collapse. To everyone’s surprise, England failed to score a mere 9 runs off the final two overs as they went onto lose three wickets in the last over. In the end, South Africa triumphed by a slender one-run margin.

After such a defeat, England would be hurting and one can expect a very strong comeback from them.

Weather Conditions

There should be sunny and humid weather prevalent over Durban on Friday. There is absolutely no chance for rain and a full game will be on the cards. A maximum temperature of 29-degree celsius has been predicted for the morning hours while there could be a decrease or four or five degrees during the match.

Pitch Report

When it didn’t rain during the Mzansi Super League, the Kingsmead ground produced pretty decent batting surfaces. In the two matches that took place during the MSL, teams batting first scored 174 and 173 with the second game witnessing hosts Durban Heat coming up with a comfortable chase. Traditionally, Durban has also been one of the more spin-friendly surfaces in South Africa, so do watch out for them.

South Africa

Quinton de Kock: Skipper Quinton de Kock looked in awesome touch before until he was dismissed for 31 runs. With the southpaw ending both the Test and ODI series’ as the top run-getter, de Kock will surely feature as a top pick.

Lungi Ngidi: The first T20I seemed but all over for South Africa until Lungi Ngidi decided to take things into his own hands. After defending seven runs off a final over which included three wickets, Lungi Ngidi will hope to make up for lost time in the upcoming fixtures.

England

Jason Roy: One of the world’s leading white-ball batsmen in the world, Jason Roy was unstoppable at Buffalo Park. Roy also did well to look untroubled against spin bowling with him even taking down Jon-Jon Smuts for 22 runs in one over.

Jos Buttler: It remains to be seen whether Jos Buttler will be shunted down the order following England’s collapse in the last game but he is worth his weight in gold at any position. In the first T20I, Buttler fell for 15 after crunching three boundaries.
