The BCCI, in a tweet, revealed that Navdeep Saini has complained of groin pain in the second session and is currently being monitored by the medical team.

Navdeep Saini, after making his debut in the Sydney Test, emerged as one of the frontline pacers in the side but the cruel fate of luck had him bowl only 7.5 overs. He extracted an edge off Marnus Labuschagne on the last ball bowled, but that was put down by Ajinkya Rahane.

Saini suffers a groin injury

Soon after, Saini was seen pressing his groin with a soft-tissue injury and the medical team immediately attended him. After check-up, the physio took him off the ground and later the BCCI revealed that he is being monitored by the medical team.

“Navdeep Saini has complained of pain in his groin. He is currently being monitored by the BCCI medical team,” an official statement from India read.

Rohit completed Saini’s over by bowling a long hop but never returned after that. In Brisbane, India handed debut caps to T Natarajan and Washington Sundar while Shardul Thakur, who had bowled 10 balls before this game, partnered with Mohammed Siraj and Saini, who made their debut at the MCG and the SCG respectively.
