Sanju Samson may not have managed to cement his place in the Indian side yet but there is no doubt in anyone’s mind that the Kerala right-hander remains one of the country’s finest young batting talents.

Ever since his early days, Samson has been identified among the brightest prospects, a prodigiously talented young man who can go places.

While that promise and ability hasn’t quite resulted in truckload of runs or too many India games so far, it is undeniable that when Samson gets going, there aren’t too many better sights in world cricket.

Few of these early sighters came during the 2014 U-19 World Cup in UAE where Sanju Samson made the world sit-up and take notice of his class after an impressive debut IPL season back in 2013 for Rajasthan Royals (RR).

Samson was Indian U-19s highest run-getter of the tournament played in the Middle East, scoring 267 runs from his six innings at an average of 44.50 while striking at 96.73. Samson’s three half-centuries was also the highest by anyone in Indian colours.

His top score of 85 came against associates Papua New Guinea in Sharjah. Batting at No.4, the ever-elegant batter smashed their hapless attack to all parts of the ground. He hit a total of eight fours and four maximums. Here are the highlights of that stellar knock shared in a clip over Twitter by user @FirePants10

Samson’s knock, in which he reached his half-century in just 33 balls, helped the Indian U-19 team led by Vijay Zol reach a huge total of 301/6, which they later defended by a jaw-dropping margin of 245 runs, dismissing PNG for just 56 in 28.2 overs.
