WATCH: Shaheen nearly ends Rizwan’s T20 World Cup with brutal snorter in practice game

Shaheen Shah has been in sensational form in recent times, ripping batting lineups apart in the National T20 Cup recently. His sensational run, where he picked up 12 wickets in just 6 games for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has expectedly riled up many expectations back in Pakistan, and they are desperate to watch their star bowler rip up batting lineups.

Shaheen Shah was spotted bowling in a scenario match ahead of the T20 World Cup in UAE, where Mohammad Rizwan was facing him. Rizwan, who is one of the most highly-rated batters in the Pakistani lineup right now, faced an absolute scorcher from Shaheen, one that clearly could’ve ended his aspirations of featuring in the T20 World Cup.

Shaheen pitched it just short of length, and the ball took off from the pitch. It hurried on towards the midrib region of the batter, and all Rizwan could manage was his wrist. The 29-year-old was in terrible pain and immediately was found pacing around anxiously. The medical staff rushed in to look at his injured finger, but as it stands, there is no update about his well-being.

Mohammad Rizwan is expected to return soon, and open the innings for Pakistan on 24th October, when they open their campaign against India.

Shaheen Shah shines in the scenario match

Before Pakistan’s squad travels to Dubai on Friday, they will play one more game besides the one they played on Tuesday. Shaheen Shah Afridi, Imad Wasim, Hassan Ali, Shadab Khan and Haris Rauf gave away just 106 runs in 15 runs with their phenomenal bowling, while they were defending 150 runs. They will next be in action tomorrow, where the squad members will be featuring in their final scenario game before heading to the middle-east.

Pakistan’s primal source of runs, Babar Azam, did not do a great job in this game. But his run of form in the National T20 Cup will keep their fans’ hopes high. He scored 286 runs in 6 games, which includes a century and two fifties.
