Final squads of all six participating franchises taking part in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2021 were confirmed on Friday (May 28) following the official tournament draft.

As many as 101 cricketers will be featuring in the CPL 2021. All teams have got a 17-member contingent for the competition barring Guyana Amazon Warriors, who will head into the CPL 2021 with only a 16-man squad.

Prominent South African all-rounder Chris Morris is set for his CPL debut this season after being announced as the first-choice draft pick by the Barbados Tridents. Among other notable signings, India’s Smit Patel and Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir is also set for their maiden CPL stint.

Not just Amir, the CPL 2021 contingent from Pakistan also feature experienced players like Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez and Wahab Riaz and aspiring young talents such as Haider Ali, Azam Khan and Usman Qadir.

Other of the CPL 2021’s big-name signings from abroad include Faf du Plessis (St Lucia Zouks) and Shakib Al Hasan (Jamaica Tallawahs). Emerging young cricketer Wanindu Hasaranga has found his calling for the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots. His fellow Sri Lankan and recently retired all-rounder, Thisara Perera, will be plying his trade for the Barbados Tridents.

Reshuffling of the Caribbean players means fans will witness some of their favourite T20 cricketers play for a different team, with veteran left-hander Chris Gayle notably set to make his CPL comeback and play for the Patriots.
