IPL 2020: SRH vs DC- Stats from Warner-Saha partnership, end of Rabada’s record streak and more

If you look at the IPL 2020 points table, one thing that would startle you is that SRH are at sixth position despite having the second best net-run-rate. This signifies that SRH have a knack of losing a lot of close matches they can win, but when they win, it would be huge. SRH’s last three wins have come as convincing as they can – by defeating KXIP by 69 runs, defeating RR by 8 wickets and defeating DC by 88 runs. Unlike the two other wins, this time in the SRH vs DC game it was by an even bigger margin and came against a team in the top half of the table.

Things would’ve looked far easier for SRH if they won a Super Over or did not suffer one of the biggest collapses in IPL history, against KXIP. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals are for the first time in all sorts of bother this season, following an 88-run defeat which had a severe beating on their net-run-rate. SRH got this kind of performance at a crucial time when they were a step away from a dead rubber, as they not only need to win their remaining matches but also need to depend on other teams.

The birthday boy David Warner and the opener in a long time shared a 107-run stand for the first wicket. Unusually after Warner’s wicket at 66, Saha continued to score at an even higher rate. As Saha were out at 14.3 overs, SRH slowed down but with that solid start, 8.5 runs-per-over were more than enough against the best death bowling team. Delhi Capitals never looked to chase this down, by losing wickets at regular intervals, as they eventually fold out for 131. Here’s a look at the numbers from the match.

SRH vs DC – Stats
