Chris Gayle, the Universe Boss makes his return to the T20I squad after a span of almost two years. He last played a T20I for his international side in March 2019 against England. The 41 year old explosive batsman still has the ability to bat out the opposition from the game and is one of the most feared batsman over the globe. He has a strike rate of over 140 in T20I cricket.
Kieron Pollard, captain of the home side is one of the most complete players in the T20I format. He is explosive with the bat, handy with the ball and magnificent on the field. He bats at a strike rate 136 in T20I cricket and can play an anchor’s role in the middle order in ODI Cricket, where he bats at a strike rate of just under 100.
Angelo Mathews, Sri Lanka’s talisman is a part of the Sri Lankan squad. Mathews is one of the most experienced all-rounders in the world cricket. However, his contribution against West Indies will be limited to batting because of his recent struggles with injuries. Despite playing as a pure batsman, he is still a vital asset for this Sri Lankan team.
Thisara Perera is a player who does not get enough credit for his contributions to his national side. The all-rounder has represented Sri Lanka in 164 ODIs and 81 T20Is and has an amazing record with both the bat and ball. His performance in the tour will be a very vital for his side’s chances to perform well.
