Nothing could prevent Mumbai Indians from being IPL 2020 winners. After finishing the group stage with the highest ever net-run-rate by a team in the group stage, the Mumbai Indians won their two play-off matches comfortably.

Right from the first ball when Trent Boult dismissed Marcus Stoinis, MI had a firm grip on the finals. After losing two more wickets in quick succession, Shreyas Iyer and Rishabh Pant put on a 96-run stand with each of them scoring fifties.

This led Delhi Capitals score 156, which was never enough against the powerful team in Mumbai Indians. Starting with three consecutive forty-plus partnerships, they never looked worried in the chase as the required rate was kept in check.

Rohit Sharma with scores of 0, 4, 9, 35, 5, 35, 6 in his previous matches – scored a match-winning fifty. This was one of the rarest weaknesses in a team like Mumbai Indians, and Rohit managed to tick the box here. Here’s the stats from the mega event:-
