Derbyshire lock horns with Essex for a spot in the final of the tournament in the second semi-final of the T20 Blast 2019. The Falcons defeated Gloucestershire in the quarter-finals whilst the Eagles knocked Lancashire out of the competition, arguably the best team in the league stages to seal a semi-final berth.
Bright sunny conditions are predicted with little to no chances of rain and temperature ranging around 23 degree Celsius expected during the course of the game.
This will be the second consecutive game on the surface thus even though it is traditionally a good batting track, it will slow down as the game progresses. Chasing could be a tricky prospect and wouldn’t be a wise decision in a high-pressure situation.
No major injury concerns reported.
Probable Playing XI:
Billy Godleman and Wayne Madsen have contributed heavily with the bat throughout the campaign and the onus will lie on them to score the bulk of the runs. Ravi Rampaul is the leading wicket-taker in the tournament with 22 scalps and will spearhead the pace battery.
Luis Reece, Billy Goldleman [c], Wayne Madsen, Leus du Plooy, Alex Hughes, Matthew Critchley, Fynn Hudson-Prentice, Daryn Smit [wk], Logan van Beek, Anuj Dal, Ravi Rampaul
The Eagles possess considerable depth in their batting department with the seasoned duo of Ryan ten Doeschate and Ravi Bopara coming in at five and six. On a surface that should provide considerable help to the spinners, Adam Zampa will play a crucial role with the bowl in hand.
Tom Westley, Cameron Delport, Adam Weather [wk], Daniel Lawrence, Ryan ten Doeschate, Ravi Bopara, Paul Walter, Simon Harmer [c], Aaron Beard, James Porter, Adam Zampa
Wayne Madsen has notched 447 runs at a terrific average of 49.66, which should make him a first-pick in any Dream11 Team. Ryan ten Doeschate is another trustable buy and he is certain to bring a copious amount of points with his expansive skillset. Other viable picks would be Cameron Delport and Ravi Rampaul as the duo has excelled in their designated roles for their respective sides.
