Match 13 of the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2021 on Wednesday (July 28) saw Lyca Kovai Kings bowler Abhishek Tanwar indulge in an ugly altercation with Siechem Madurai Panthers batsman KB Arun Karthik before the duo mended ways with a hug.

The heated exchange was on display after the penultimate ball of the third over in the Panthers’ run-chase. Right-arm seamer Tanwar got Karthik’s opening partner K Rajkumar out edging a full-pitched delivery to the backward point fieldsman.

And, just as he went up in celebration, Tanwar turned towards non-striker Karthik and shouted at him in a moment of extreme anger on his part.

Tanwar had a go at Karthik, who seems to be asking him why exactly is he angered at him? By the looks of it, Tanwar wasn’t amused over the fact that Karthik had left the crease at the other end before the he let go of the delivery and made his disagreement evident.

Thankfully, though, things weren’t allowed to go too far out of hands by the Kings’ fielders and the two on-field umpires, who intervened in the nick of time.

Moments later, Karthik, who had more or less kept his arm, was seen walking up to Tanwar while one of the officiating umpires tried to stop him, presuming that the batter will now respond to the bowler with a mouthful.

Much to everyone’s surprise and delight, however, Karthik ended up sharing a heartwarming hug with Tanwar, which brought a big smile to the face of the otherwise angry bowler. The calmness was restored in a beautiful fashion.
